A MUST DO!!
My partner and I was looking for a tour that did it all. We wanted to see the rock and town of Guatape and visit a coffee farm. This was the only tour that offer all in one and it is private! The price is on the higher end compared to the other trips but when you do the break down (one tour for Guatapé and another for a coffee tour) It’s about the same and private! Also by our suprise we stoped at market and tried all the local fruit. Our tour guide was Sara! Words can not explain how amazing she was. It felt like we were traveling with a local celebrity. Everyone knew her and she knew all the best local spots and shops. Her English was amazing and vey knowledgeable able about everything and all the questions that we had! A Great Day Trip

Amazing Time
We had an amazing morning on our tour. Even with a bad weather forecast it was so much fun and we learned a ton about the coffee making process. Book and enjoy the time of your life.
Esteban was the ideal tour guide for us. The man's English made this tour easier. He is knowledgeable about the history of Colombia and of the tour. A lot of cool facts. He was very punctual when picking us up. We were the one that got out late. His demeanor is very welcoming and we felt that we can discuss with him about anything and he would have a solid answer. The timing that was set up for us was more than perfect. We got to the Top of La Piedra del Peñol in the morning with decent weather but most importantly, not a lot of tourist. We got to the city as the amount of Tourist was piling in, but the timing was perfect for which most of our time was winding down in Guatape. We made it to do the paragliding and was expecting rain that day. But to our surprise when we got there, we got good wind and sunshine for the paragliding. The wind was not strong enough for us to loop back to start, so we were provided a ride from the landing zone to the entrance. Lastly Esteban took us to the best Colombian food you can find. I was having issues with food poisoning prior to the trip, but needless to say the Quality and Speed of El Rancherito was superb. I highly recommend you guys book this tour. They do not disappoint and was the highlight of our trip to Medellín. If you get Esteban, count yourself unfortunate, because future tours may not be as good as a tour with him. Interesting and fun experience
Totally recommended this Tour, Andrés is clearly a great coffee connoisseur. He has a lot of charisma and makes the experience informative but at the same time very fun. The Finca belongs to Don Antonio, he sat down with us and we had a very good conversation. On the other hand, Aleja, Andrés's assistant, prepared us some delicious coffees and took us to harvest the coffee beans. Her energy and smile were very pleasant and contagious. The tour of Guatape and the coffee farm was amazing. Laura, our guide was very accommodating and incredibly knowledgeable. She was able to share her knowledge about the history of the area, the socio-economic complexities, cultural interests, and her general love for Colombia and Medellin. What an amazing experience!! Our tour guide Laura was super knowledgeable, punctual, kind, and patient. Her English skills were outstanding and made it very pleasant for everyone in our family. We traveled with two adolescent children and we never felt the experiences were too much for them. We all felt very much included as an active participant of each activity in this tour. 10/10 for both the tour company and the tour guide. Guatape and Avocado Farm Tour Itinerary

So we start from your place at the time that is more convenient for you.

Then, we head east of Antioquia to start with our first delicious stop.

Exotic Fruit Tasting

Colombia is the most diverse country in the world in fruit production, as we grow over 430 fruits throughout our territory.

This is why we think we should take you to a fruit stand to try some of them.

In this short stop we provide you different exotic fruits you probably didn’t even know existed, with intense sour or sweet flavors.

After delighting the palate with these exotic fruits we are ready to head to our second stop: the avocado farm.

Avocado Farm Tour

From the fruit market we continue our journey for around 50 minutes as you see amazing views through the window.

Once we get to the farm,  our hosts, a beautiful couple greets you warmly with a delicious avocado dessert, where you discover new tastes and uses to this fruit.

And then we start the educational tour learning first about what is needed to grow an avocado tree and actually doing it in a germinator where you learn the time line from planting to seed to harvesting.

After planting your own seed we continue learning about the required conditions to grow avocado (elevation, seasons, ph of the soil and more) as well as the threats like plagues and diseases.

And then we start a hands-on activity where our host teaches you how to make a delicious avocado jelly that you can use in multiple food preparations with all the benefits of the avocado.

Avocado Plantation

Then in the plantation we look for an avocado ready to be picked following our host instructions.

Our last activity in the field is planting an avocado tree.

So first, you need to mark and clean the area and then dig a hole to insert a baby plant and hopefully you will have an avocado tree that you are than welcome to visit in the future 🙂

Lastly, to reward your effort of planting a tree our host gives you a cold and refreshing avocado lemonade.

Also you have the opportunity to buy some avocado subproducts that they produce like oil for the skin care or seed powder.

There are also cute socks, pijamas and more avocado related products available. 

After refreshing and saying goodbye to the avocado farmers we head to the next stop, the imponent rock of Guatape.

Climbing Up The Guatape Rock

At this massive rock you get the chance to climb up it. It’s 749 steps and 50 minutes approximately to go up and down.

Once you reach the top, you can stay up there for as long as you wish as you witness one of the most beautiful views you have ever seen.

This is not only our opinion but that of hundreds of tourists we have taken there.
