Andres has a great personality and made us feel like we have been friends for a long time and in my opinion this is so important. We didn’t even know when the time passed. He took us also to a coffee shop, were we had the best coffee ever! The tour is very well thought and we got to see and to do so many things in just 8 hours. Upon first time visiting Medellin we really wanted to do a day trip to Guatape since we have heard that it’s a must see. We never expected this to be one of the best day trips in my entire life, and this would have never been achieved without our charismatic guide Andres! He has been very informative throughout the journey telling us a lot about Colombia and the Medellin area while also suggesting what else we could do in the country throughout our stay. As it suggests on website we have stopped first to try some exotic fruits and ended up buying mangostino and murapo. The lady selling the fruits was very nice providing us with several types of fruits and her baby was so cute that we spent a lot of time playing with him! Second stop was the Replica Town where we visited a church and some souvenir shops and heard Guatape’s and El Penol’s history. Third stop was the impressive rock of Guatape which has 740 steps and which provided us with outstanding views! Last step was the city of Guatape where we had a tasty lunch colombian style and we heard the story of the city. Probably the best small town i have ever seen. At this massive rock you get the chance to climb it. It has 749 steps and it takes 40 minutes approximately to go up and down.

My friend and I went on the full day tour with Andres, and we had the best time! The highlight of the trip was the coffee farm, where we got to pick coffee cherries with the farmer who owns the land. Andres was very knowledgeable about the coffee, Guatapé, and even walked up all 700 steps of Peñol to help us take pictures at the top. He’s very kind and was constantly making sure we were okay throughout the day. I highly recommend taking this tour with him!

We had a private tour today with Andreas to Guatape and we included the extra flower farm experience. It was the best tour we’ve had this whole trip, Andreas was fantastic and even took a wee extra stop off to buy some local cheese after he worked out we are into our food and trying new experiences. The fruit tasting was completely worthwhile, discovered some new flavours and new favourites and the flower farm was extremely beautiful with a lovely family running it. The car was comfortable, clean and a welcome relief from the usual minibus tours. It was a great day and we would highly recommend Andreas to anyone looking for something fun to do while in Medellin.

This was a phenomenal tour and honestly one of the best days of my life! Andres was so accommodating and kind from beginning to end. He has a wonderful personality and has such passion for his city and the surrounding neighborhoods. This passion and energy is infectious and makes for an extremely positive experience. Every stage of the tour, i.e. fruit tasting, tasting local typical foods, visiting the coffee farm, climbing El Peñol, visiting Guatapé… it was all wonderful. Andres has so much knowledge and his English is fantastic so it’s never a struggle to understand what he’s saying. My friends and I were visiting Medellín and did the Guatape day trip with the optional visit to the flower farm and exotic fruit tasting. I can honestly say this was a highlight of our entire 10 days in Colombia. Jose and his wife Blanca (at the flower farm) were so hospitable and gracious and left a lasting impression – plus the farm is beautiful and it is a truly unique experience. My husband and I travel a lot, and don’t love typical planned tours, but know when we have a good one, and I have to say that this day far exceeded our expectations. Our guide Oscar was wonderful. Understated but enthusiastic, incredibly knowledgeable and kind. We did so much in one day but it didn’t feel like too much.
We stopped at a local fruit stand to taste some fruit, visited the town of Peñol, climbed the rock in Guatape, and spent time in the magical town of Guatape itself (including a wonderful lunch). But the highlight was a wonderful visit to a local coffee farm, where we got a personal tour by the owner (and got to take part in the coffee-making process).
I would highly recommend this tour (and tour guide!). I am often skeptical of a site with all or almost all 5-star reviews, but this really was with the reviews. When I wrote to ask about the tour, Andres was quick to respond and confirm, the cost was exceptionally reasonable, and we were able to book something with very short notice. It was outstanding all around.
From April 12th to 20th, the Guatapé region experiences its busiest season of the year as Colombians take vacations for Easter week. During this time, the area sees extremely high traffic and large crowds, with tens of thousands of tourists and vehicles.
To minimize long traffic delays and lengthy lines at the entrance to the rock, we are only offering tours with pick-up times at 6:30, 7:00, or 7:30 AM (with earlier times being preferable). This ensures we arrive at the rock before the peak crowds.

Day 2 was a Medellin city tour inclusive of Botero Square, Comuna 13, escalators and cable cars – I took more photos on day 2 than every other day of my trip combined (and it was only a half day in the city)!
Andres is personable, knowledgeable, an excellent driver and fantastically likable – you really can’t go wrong with this company; their commitment to the quality and integrity of the guest adventure is second to none. I would gladly hire Medellin Day Trips again on a future visit – sheer delight and a care-free experience!

Andres showed us a fantastic time doing the beautiful countryside of Columbia! He is funny, knowledgeable, and loves talking about Colombia and sharing stories. It is a young, great company — definitely support them as you plan your trip in Colombia. We did the rock climb which was amazing, but I’m sure all the other tours are as well. Definitely a must-do if you are in Medellin!!!

Great day visiting some sights outside Medellin. The rock El Penol and the pueblo of Guatape were highlights of our time in Colombia. Andres is a fantastic guide – professional, friendly and very patient. His English is fantastic. We learned more about Colombia and, in particular, Antioquia, that we would have ever learned on our own. I cannot say enough good things. Definitely contact these guys if you are in Medellin.

I had a pleasure of doing a private tour to Guatape with this tour operator. The booking process and consequent email communication were top notch. My guide, Andres, was phenomenal – he speaks perfect English, and is extremely knowledgeable and passionate about sharing his knowledge. He is truly one of the most gifted guides that I’ve come across, and really does a great job of making the tour both educational and entertaining.
My only regret is not doing a city tour with Andres on my first day here, as I think it would’ve really helped me get better oriented and get more out of my time in Medellin.

Upon first time visiting Medellin we really wanted to do a day trip to Guatape since we have heard that it’s a must see.
We never expected this to be one of the best day trips in my entire life, and this would have never been achieved without our charismatic guide Andres! He has been very informative throughout the journey telling us a lot about Colombia and the Medellin area while also suggesting what else we could do in the country throughout our stay.
As it suggests on website we have stopped first to try some exotic fruits and ended up buying mangostino and murapo. The lady selling the fruits was very nice providing us with several types of fruits and her baby was so cute that we spent a lot of time playing with him!
Second stop was the Replica Town where we visited a church and some souvenir shops and heard Guatape’s and El Penol’s history. Third stop was the impressive rock of Guatape which has 740 steps and which provided us with outstanding views!
Last step was the city of Guatape where we had a tasty lunch colombian style and we heard the story of the city. Probably the best small town i have ever seen. Very colourful, full of welcoming people and great weather? What else can you want?
5 stars for my dear Andres and looking forward to book more with him in the future!

We had a private tour today with Andreas to Guatape and we included the extra flower farm experience. It was the best tour we’ve had this whole trip, Andreas was fantastic and even took a wee extra stop off to buy some local cheese after he worked out we are into our food and trying new experiences. The fruit tasting was completely worthwhile, discovered some new flavours and new favourites and the flower farm was extremely beautiful with a lovely family running it.
The car was comfortable, clean and a welcome relief from the usual minibus tours. It was a great day and we would highly recommend Andreas to anyone looking for something fun to do while in Medellin.

This was a phenomenal tour and honestly one of the best days of my life!
Andres was so accommodating and kind from beginning to end. He has a wonderful personality and has such passion for his city and the surrounding neighborhoods. This passion and energy is infectious and makes for an extremely positive experience.
Every stage of the tour, i.e. fruit tasting, tasting local typical foods, visiting the coffee farm, climbing El Peñol, visiting Guatapé… it was all wonderful. Andres has so much knowledge and his English is fantastic so it’s never a struggle to understand what he’s saying.
As it was my last day in Medellin and I had not made it to Commune 13, Andres kindly brought me there as a final stop. It was such a wonderful addition to my trip and I am so thrilled that I did not miss it.
Get booking with Andres now! I am very particular and can be critical but the fact that he impressed me so much says a lot!

We did a day tour of Guatape with a morning at the flower farm learning about the silleteros and their history and meeting an absolutely wonderful family, Jose Angel and Blanca. Our experience with Andres made us want to book another trip to Colombia to do some of the other tours he offers! It was THAT good!

My friends and I were visiting Medellín and did the Guatape day trip with the optional visit to the flower farm and exotic fruit tasting. I can honestly say this was a highlight of our entire 10 days in Colombia. Jose and his wife Blanca (at the flower farm) were so hospitable and gracious and left a lasting impression – plus the farm is beautiful and it is a truly unique experience. Andres was extremely knowledgeable about the Antioquia region, was very personable and a lot of fun. I’m already trying to plan my next trip to Colombia so we can book Medellin Day Trips again!

This is the first time my girlfriend and I have splurged on a private tour (anywhere) and we can’t recommend this particular one highly enough. Spending a day with Andres is like hiring a new best friend for the day. He’s so much fun to be around and gives great insights about Guatape and Medellin. My husband and I travel a lot, and don’t love typical planned tours, but know when we have a good one, and I have to say that this day far exceeded our expectations. Our guide Oscar was wonderful. Understated but enthusiastic, incredibly knowledgeable and kind. We did so much in one day but it didn’t feel like too much.
We stopped at a local fruit stand to taste some fruit, visited the town of Peñol, climbed the rock in Guatape, and spent time in the magical town of Guatape itself (including a wonderful lunch). But the highlight was a wonderful visit to a local coffee farm, where we got a personal tour by the owner (and got to take part in the coffee-making process).
I would highly recommend this tour (and tour guide!). I am often skeptical of a site with all or almost all 5-star reviews, but this really was with the reviews. When I wrote to ask about the tour, Andres was quick to respond and confirm, the cost was exceptionally reasonable, and we were able to book something with very short notice. It was outstanding all around.
